Max Mansfield - Founder
Max Mansfield is the founder of The Fussball Project. Born in Dortmund but raised in NYC, Max has played and coached in both the US and Europe. Growing up playing for Met Oval before moving abroad spending time at the Schalke 04 youth academy and playing in the U19 Bundesliga before heading back to the states to pursue his studies at Columbia and then later Cornell University. Upon graduating with a degree in economics, Max spent a few years in the corporate world before launching The Fussball Project. He has since placed over 50+ players at trials in Europe with multiple youth players currently living and playing at top youth academies. He also launched New Amsterdam Football Club in NISA and currently holds his UEFA B license.
Michael Mansfield - Head of Marketing & Operations
Michael leads the communications and media team for The Fussball Project, bringing a rich and diverse background in music, advertising, and New York City real estate dating back to the 1990s. A longtime fixture in New York’s vibrant music scene, he ran a production company that honed his creative instincts and storytelling skills—tools he now uses to shape the identity of soccer organizations across the city.
Michael is a founding member of New Amsterdam FC and Two Bridges FC, and he played an instrumental role in launching Brooklyn Football Club. His lifelong experience as a goalkeeper gives him a unique perspective on capturing the drama and joy of the game, both on and off the field.
His journey through New York soccer began in the early ’90s, playing as a keeper for a German-French team in the Cosmopolitan League. Today, he remains an active goalkeeper, mentoring young players at Two Bridges FC and passing on his deep love for the game to the next generation.
Arik Rosenstein - International Development
Growing up in New York, Arik would watch football every weekend with his father and brother. Having experienced working across 5 continents, Arik has been inspired to dedicate his career to using football as a means for social change. His experiences with streetfootballworld, professional clubs Maccabi Tel Aviv and Accra Hearts of Oak, and working within European fan-culture at UEFA funded SD Europe, have shaped his path to being a part of The Fussball Project. Arik is based in Madrid and is responsible for developing the network of clubs and possibilities for TFP players.
Martin Williams - Residency Manager
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Martin’s football career has taken him to Italy, Sweden and Germany. After a college career in the US, Martin signed his first professional contract in Sweden with Motala AIF in the 1st division. From there he signed in Germany with TUS Ennepetal in the Oberliga before signing a pro deal in the US with New Amsterdam FC in NISA (tier 3). In his current role, Martin manages our TFP Residency program on the ground in Düssledorf, and lives alongside our student-athletes. He currently plays for Turu Dusseldorf in the Oberliga.
