educational pathways
The value of a proper education for an aspiring athlete is imperative to complement the short cycle of a professional football career.
At FP residency, the value of education must run parallel to the footballing experience. A proper education serves as the foundation for life during and after a career in football.
All student-athletes in our program are required to attend one of our three educational pathways alongside German language school courses. Our tutors and college guidance counselors ensure that each student-athlete is on track to continuously have the option to return to the US and be eligible for NCAA-regulated programs.
High School Track
FP Residency has partnered with the University of Missouri HS (Mizzou HS) which is actually the same high school our founder Max Mansfield attended when he made his journey to Europe over 10+ years ago! Mizzou HS was one of the first NCAA-recognized high schools that were 100% online. Our in-person tutors work closely with Mizzou to ensure students are on track to graduate on time.
University Track
For students that have successfully graduated high school, we require them to take university-level courses at a minimum of four courses through our network of partner universities. These courses are all 100% transferrable and allow student-athletes to progress towards a bachelor’s degree while continuing to reap the benefits of playing football in Europe.
Independent Track
Covid-19 has caused many traditional schools to rethink the way we look at education and forced many to offer a remote learning option. If our student-athletes school provides this option, it is generally the most seamless transition to ensure punctual graduation. Our tutors will continue to support students that elect these options and guide them through graduation.
